I get asked a lot what the secret is. What's the one thing that actually makes the difference between someone who gets results and someone who doesn't.
It's not the programme. It's not the supplements. It's not some fancy exercise you saw on Instagram last night.
It's turning up.
That's it. That's the secret.
Two Sets Beats Zero Sets
Here's something I tell every client, new or old: you don't need to smash a two-hour session to make progress. You can do two exercises, two sets each, and if you train them hard, you will benefit from it. Being soft with it is where people go wrong — not the volume.
I'd rather have a client do a short, hard session than skip because they "don't have time" for the full hour. Something is always better than nothing. The people who get results aren't the ones with the perfect week. They're the ones who show up even when the week's gone sideways.
Consistency Isn't Glamorous — That's Why It Works
Nobody wants to hear this bit. Consistency doesn't make a good Instagram reel. It's not exciting. But it's the actual answer, every time, to "how do I get better at this."
Whatever "this" is for you — strength, running, your basketball game, just feeling less knackered day to day — you need to be there to get better at it. Not occasionally. Not when you feel like it. Consistently.
What This Looks Like In Real Life
Life gets in the way. I get it — new clients especially, work gets busy, kids get sick, plans change. That's normal. What I care about isn't perfection, it's what happens after the wobble. Can we get you back in. Can we find a way to fit something in, even if it's smaller than usual, rather than writing the whole week off.
That's the difference between someone who's still training in six months and someone who isn't.
The Bottom Line
You don't need the perfect plan. You need to keep turning up to whatever plan you've got, and try properly when you're there. That's genuinely it.
